Oxford, ME – Joey Doiron drove his #73 Wild Willy’s Burgers Chevrolet to a hard fought win in the Pro All Stars Series North season finale at Oxford Plains Speedway.  After a dismal performance at his best track in Beech Ridge just a few weeks ago, Doiron was determined to end his PASS North season with a statement, and he did just that.  Doiron took the lead with 18 laps to go from David Oliver to secure the victory in a very short 150 laps.  After the race, Doiron was ecstatic to be in victory lane.

“I really thought I cost myself the race there near the end,” Doiron said, referring to contact made in the last caution, “I just made a mistake with that lapped car, but we pulled it off! That was quite a battle with David, I found some grip on the outside and he was fast down on the bottom.”

Doiron started the day off well with a win in his heat race, giving him the 11th starting position for the 150 lap feature event.  While it was a strange 80 degree day in Maine in September, the 36 car field got prepared to endure the heat for the race.  At the start, Doiron began to make his move early, and was up to third by the time the first yellow flew on lap 38.  From that point on, the drivers ran under the green flag for a long while before the next caution flew.  Doiron was hounding on Oliver to get the race lead.  The caution flew again on lap 131, and set Oliver and Doiron on the front row for a restart.  The two battled each other hard when the race went green, but Doiron was able to use the outside to his advantage and grab the lead.  From there, he pulled away, and took home the win in the “Ripley & Fletcher Ford 150!”

With the finish, Doiron finishes his season fourth in the final PASS North point standings.  The team would like to thank all of their partners and supporters for a great 2014 campaign in the north.  Dorion is not finished racing however, as he will head south to Orange County Speedway to compete in the PASS South event on October 18th.
