DJ1Center Conway, NH – The Pro All Stars Series North season opener is this weekend at Oxford Plains Speedway. After what seemed to be a never ending offseason for some, DJ Shaw and the Precision JLM Racing team have been hard at work on and off the track. After a couple of top ten finishes in the PASS National series, including a runner up finish in the Easter Bunny 150 two weeks ago, the crew is more prepared than ever for a good start to the season at Oxford Plains Speedway.

While Shaw hasn’t raced in a few weeks, he and his father, Dale Shaw, built and crewed on the car that Jimmy Hebert drove to the win in the Governor’s Cup 150 at Lee USA Speedway this past weekend, getting the sophomore driver his first win in the American Canadian Tour, all behind the wheel of a brand new Dale Shaw Racecar.

driver_jdBerwick, ME – After a long offseason in the northeast, Joey Doiron and #73 Wild Willy’s Burgers/JBJ Machine racing team are ready to get the northern season started this weekend at Oxford Plains Speedway. The Pro All Stars Series North season opening “Ripley and Fletcher Ford 150” is this Sunday, April 21st. After a few great runs to start the season in the PASS National series, including a win to open the season at Auburndale Speedway, Joey Doiron is hoping to get another win to start the year off right this weekend.

“We won the season opener at Beech Ridge last year and that gave us a boost on the rest of the season,” Doiron said of his strong start just a year ago, “looking to Oxford we know we can do the same and get us another strong start.”
The last time the series was at Oxford Plains Speedway was last October for the season finale, and after making several big gains on the car, Doiron ended the night with a top ten finish with a car that he thought could have contended for a podium finish.

The Pro All Stars Series tour kicks off their 2013 season at Oxford Plains Speedway on April 21st. Defending champion Travis Benjamin, is looking forward to the green flag. “Being a PASS champion is a great accomplishment!! There has only been 3 other drivers that can say that. Though the off season hasn’t been all fun and games… actually it has been as Travis has hit the hoops in his spare time. “This off season I’ve just been working a lot at Belfast Variety and during the off season I play a lot of basketball. There’s been two leagues in Belfast, one league in Ellsworth and another in Waterville. So that keeps me in shape.”

SOUTH PARIS, Maine – Norway’s Chris Coolidge will be back in the top division at Oxford Plains Speedway in 2013, even as the division itself has undergone offseason changes.

Formerly fielding ACT-legal Late Models at the .375-mile flat oval, new ownership there has revamped the division to be a Pro Late Model – a sort of hybrid blending the former Late Model division with the Super Late Models that compete in the PASS North Series. Coolidge, who earned his first career win in the 2012 season finale at Oxford, is already eager to get back on the track in his No. 72 Crazy Horse Racing chassis.

“It’s not going to be a full-blown Pro Stock. It’s not going to be a lot different,” Coolidge said. “It’s always been my hope to try and be able to run something like that. It’s definitely going to be a learning curve – I still had a lot to learn in a Late Model, and now we’ve even got more to learn. But I still think it’s going to be a lot of fun.” Read Full Article →
