WALPOLE, N.H. – For the first time in the history of the Granite State Pro Stock Series, the drivers are heading for Oxford Plains Speedway on Oxford 250 weekend.

The GSPSS drivers will compete in a 100-lap feature on Saturday night, which is the night before the prestigious 44th annual Scott’s Recreation Oxford 250.  The event will allow some of the drivers planning to run the 250 a chance to compete with the regulars of the GSPSS. The hope is that drivers who compete learn something heading for Sunday’s prestigious event.

The entries for the event have been coming in and at the top of the list, former champion Derek Griffith will look to capture his first win of the season. The Hudson, New Hampshire driver will also be looking to put the final touches on the setup ahead of Sunday’s 44th annual Oxford 250.

Series regulars entered for the race include Mike O’Sullivan and Barry Gray. Nick Lascuola, Devin O’Connell, Cory Casagrande and Josh King are also set to compete in the 100 lap main event.

Other entries include some outsiders that will be looking to steal the trophy. Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series spotter Derek Kneeland of Sebago, Maine will compete behind the wheel of the No. 90. Bobby Timmons, Bryan Kruczek and Chad Dow are also entered.

Former GSPSS winner DJ Shaw will return to the series, along with Gabe Brown. The 14-year-old Brown will make his series debut as the youngest competitor in the field.

Mike O’Sullivan leads the updated championship standings by 16 points over Scott MacMichael, while Gray is third, 17 points back. Casagrande and Lascuola round out the top five.

This event is a one-day show, with practice, qualifying and the 100-lap race all set for Saturday afternoon and evening. The pit gates open at 9 a.m., while the front grandstands will open for fans at 12 p.m. The GSPSS will be a part of the practice rotation and will have three 15-minute practice rounds, along with a final 10-minute round. The series will be the last group of heat races and the last feature to hit the track on Saturday night.

Last time out, Josh King put his No. 21 in Victory Lane for the first time in his career. Will another driver add their name to the list? Find out Saturday.
