Teddy Hodgdon of Danbury, CT is driving the #28 legend car, in the MOAT Mnt Series at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.  The MOAT Mnt Legends are back at NHMS for another double header  weekend at NHMS.   “We might have to make some slight adjustments during the weekend, but with the baseline from our shop we should be quick right out of the gate.”

In the last road course race here at NHMS, Teddy was able to get a top 3 finish and take a spot on the podium in victory lane. “We got lucky at the start of the race and after the restart I was able to settle into 3rd.  I was able to hold on to that position for the rest of the race.”

The road course at NHMS is very unique and challenging for the drivers, with its hills, valleys, long straightaways, and hair pin turns. “I really like the mountain section off the main oval the best.  It is something different with the elevation changes, the banking in the bowl and the light feeling the car gets on top of the hill. We are still searching for the perfect road Course setup with this being only my 11th road Course race.”

Racing is always evolving in the cars, on the track, and even in the pits. “I would like to find some incentives to draw my cars and maybe a double header weekend with Thompson would be fun.”

The road course here at NHMS has 2 long straightaways where the draft can have an effect on the cars. “The draft is not as prominent as on other tracks, but if you are close enough, it will still have an effect.  I need to have the car as stable as possible through the final turn.”

Legends car racing here in the New England is expanding with 2 road course series, 2 short track touring series, as well as a number of local tracks having their own legends series. “Yes, I do see Legends growing, but I feel road courses are growing faster in the Northeast.”

So what if MOAT Mnt had a 25 lap feature, including a mid-race pit stop? “I think it would be an interesting concept, but the legend cars are not setup for pit stops so we would have to make adjustments for that.  Personally, I would love to do it.”
