17-year old Reid Lanpher of Manchester , Maine recently wrapped up the 2015 NASCAR Whalen All American Series Championship.

Lanpher also won the Pro Series Championship at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway.

The championships were both decided on the same night as Lanpher entered the final event with only a 10-point lead over Garret Hall of Scarborough, Maine.

During practice, Hall’s car broke and was not able to be fixed at the track. Lanpher would only need to start the race to wrap up both championships.

After hearing of Hall’s bad luck, Lanpher unloaded his back-up car and drove it to Hall’s pit, telling him it was his for the night.

The two had a spirited battle in the heat race with Lanpher finishing one position ahead of Hall.

Lanpher finished ahead of Hall in the feature to win both championships.

This was not unfamiliar territory for the Maranacook High School Senior. Last year, he loaned his car to eventual champion Dave Farrington Jr. who ended winning the championship while Lanpher finished as runner-up but won the Rookie of the Year title in the Pro Series.

Lanpher had 5 feature wins in his Jason Ricker prepared Super Late Model in 2015, but the highlight of the season was his runner up finish in the Oxford 250.

Lanpher is currently playing soccer for Maranacook who is gunning for their 3rd straight state title while riding a 52 game unbeaten streak.
