Winchester, NH – 17 Year-old Pro Stock driver, Derek Griffith is returning to Monadnock Speedway on Saturday, August 9th and as the season winds down, Griffith has championship aspirations.

Derek is riding a wave of three straight top-5 finishes and is looking to rebound from a 17th place finish is last year’s version of the JBH Memorial race.
“Last year we didn’t run very well, we came away with a disappointing finish. If you fast forward to this year though, our team is much stronger; I’m a much better driver and I think the results reflect that.” stated Griffith.

Griffith currently sits fourth in points, just 50 points behind leader, Larry Gelinas. Derek commented on his point standing, “We are still in the thick of the point’s battle, we are only a few points out of second and I think that with good finishes, the No. 12 Mom’s of Manchester/LCM Racing Toyota will be right there going into the World Series at Thompson.”
“Larry [point leader Larry Gelinas] is running fantastic but I think if I can gain some points on him at Monadnock and also finish ahead of Matt [Frahm] and Dillion Moltz, then we can set ourselves up for a great finish in the points. We have been on the podium for 2 of the last 3 races; we can almost smell a victory.”
The Granite State Pro Stock Series takes to the high-banks of Monadnock Speedway this Saturday, August 9th and the Post time is set for 6 PM.
