TRAVIS BEALE TAKES MODIFIED ENDURO WIN AT 95

Travis Beale of Hampden started ninth in the 12 car Modified 4/6/8 cylinder Enduro division feature Wednesday night at Speedway 95 and by lap 10 was in a fierce battle for the lead with Milo’s Dustin Lancaster, who had led from the pole to that point. Beale and Lancaster raced side by side, swapping the lead almost every lap until Beale took the lead for good with 3 to go. Beale was first under the checkers, followed by Lancaster in second. Third went to Rhonda Cain of Hermon, a former champion in the Ladies division, with Dixmont’s Rick Gomm in fourth. Fifth place went to Hermon’s Andrew Crosby.

In the Stock 4/6/8 cylinder Enduros, Matt Kimball of Cornville was declared the winner when Ken Ogden of Seal Cove was disqualified from the first spot in the post race technical inspection due to having the wrong size tires on the car and having his car too low to the ground. Ogden had inherited the lead when Skowhegan’s Zach Audet fell out of the lead on lap 18 with a flat tire. Gene Trojano of Bangor became the second place finisher with Joshua Gerry of Burnham in third. Fourth went to Bradley Norris of Ellsworth in his Ford Ranger pick up with Robert Caruso of Kenduskeag picking up a fifth place finish in the 15 car field that started the race..

Jim Carr Jr. picked up his 70th career win in the Full-Size pick up trucks by winning Wednesday nights feature over Andrew Crosby of Hermon, who finished second. Carr started fifth, but by lap 4 he was in the lead and stayed there. Third went to Jeff Overlock Jr. of Hermon. Peter Drake of Corinth finished fourth with Jason Haskell of Kenduskeag in fifth.

Trey Brown of Winterport made it two in a row in the Stars of Tomorrow as he and second place finisher Nicholas Cota of Greenfield ran away from the field, almost overlapping the third and fourth place cars when the checkers flew. Caleb Kalel of Stillwater finished third with Brewer teen Alexis Roach in fourth. Scott Hunt of Kenduskeag finished fifth.

In the stunt race event, a 5 lap backwards race, Jeff Kimball of Cornville backed over the finish line first, followed by Henry Boudreau of Winterport, Anthony Miles of Winterport, Nathan Hatch of Holden and Zack Audet of Skowhegan in that order.
