Jake Madore, of Arundel, picked up his first career Sport Series NASCAR Nite victory Saturday night.

Madore paced the field to the green flag, however surrendered the lead to Windham’s veteran Reggie Leeman on lap two. Leeman, who finished second the previous week, led until a caution on lap 15 which bunched the field back together.

On the ensuing restart, Madore chose the inside lane on the leaders lane choice giving Leeman the outside. Madore and Leeman battled side-by-side for multiple laps until Madore was able to edge Leeman going into the first turn.

Clyde Hennessey, of Windham, followed Madore and passed Leeman as well. Hennessey worked his way to the outisde of Madore and battled for 15 laps trying to capture the lead from Madore. Coming to the checkered flag Madore was able to beat Hennessey by a nose length and capture his first win.

In the Southern Maine Chrysler Dodge Jeep 150-lap PASS Super Late Model division, Joey Doiron, of Berwick, survived a couple of late race restarts to pick up his first victory of the year in the Pro All-Star Series touring division.
