Beaulieu Racing

This weekend the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) kicks off the 2014 race season at Oxford Plains Speedway. Then PASS will head to BRMS where former NELCAR Legends Champion Evan Beaulieu, will try and qualify for the PASS SLM feature. “We plan on starting the season at BRMS for the PASS race, and from there it all depends on sponsorship. We do plan on running the Oxford 250, if I can find a ride for that race it will make it a lot easier for us to be competitive. It just makes more sense to do it with another car since we race at BRMS the night before. From there maybe we will run a few others towards the end of the season.”

The one thing all drivers do in the off season is to get ready for the next race season, “It’s been a very busy off season for us, we’ve been working hard getting our new car ready for the start of our season at BRMS in a few weeks. Between that and working at Hancock Lumber and building my Nitro Designs Company, I haven’t had much time for anything else. It was a rough winter up here in Maine, I’m more than ready to get back behind the wheel.”

Evan has gotten a number of wins behind the wheel in the 56 legend car and in the final race of the season at BRMS Evan drove his Super Late Model into victory lane. These are two complete different types of race cars, “It’s a lot different. With a legends car, you have to be on the edge of out of control to be fast, and they’re always loose. The Super Late Model is much more predictable to me in what it will do and I can feel what the car is doing a lot easier than I did in a Legends Car just because the car is so much bigger. The competition in Super Late Models is like no other, when you’re racing against the best in the country, you have to be on your A game every race.”

With a full racing schedule at BRMS, Evan is always looking for more seat time behind the wheel of the race car, “I have a plan in the works for Thursday Thunder, that’s about all I can say about it now. I’d love to race more with the tour but with the Super Late Model schedule every week we have to be focused on that for the most part. I’ll be there for the races though still doing the website and press releases for the tour.”

Last season Evan raced for Naughty Racing but, this season Beaulieu Racing is fielding their own race car. “I can’t thank Dan and Lyman McKeage for their commitment to us last season, that was a season I will never forget and to learn from some of the best was a great way to get started in Super Late Models. This year we were able to purchase one of the cars that Joey Doiron raced last year and will field our own program. The opportunity to be behind the wheel of a Dale Shaw Racecar is exciting and they’ve been nothing but great to us and Doiron’s team have helped us out a ton, I’m very fortunate to have good people helping us.”

Evan would also like to mention, “We are working with Camp Sunshine this season? I will be doing different fundraising events for them and, raised over $500 for them in one show already. We will also have our car there for a race themed day in June. It’s an exciting program and I look forward to working with such great people like those at Camp Sunshine.”
