Inaugural race in Rumney, NH, kicks off exciting new season for East Coast Snocross,
Presented by AMSOIL and Woody’s Traction

CHESHIRE, Conn. (Dec. 5, 2013) — Any time a new season of championship snocross racing gets under way, the energy and excitement can be felt, heard, and often, pretty difficult to resist.

When that season lid-lifter takes place at a fresh new venue, the anticipation for racers and fans grows day by day.

East Coast Snocross (ECS) is proud to launch its 2013-14 season at a first-of-its kind facility for northern New England, as Wicked Snocross, Inc., hosts Round 1 on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 14-15, at the Riverbrook RV Resort in scenic Rumney, New Hampshire.

Spectator gates will open at 10 a.m. each day, with early qualifying rounds already under way. Pro and Pro Lite qualifying begins at 11 a.m. Admission is $12 per day for adults, children 7-15 are $5 per day; while children age 6 and under will be admitted free with a paying adult. Pit passes will also be available for an extra $10.

Wicked Snocross is hosting two points-paying events for ECS this winter, and will also launch a weekly series (WSS) on Sundays for all ages and ability levels. This effort not only provides an ideal venue for wholesome entertainment, but can also generate new interest in the sport of snocross. The facility is open seven days a week for practice

Leading the charge into Rumney are Pro riders Lincoln Lemieux (Ski-doo, runner-up in points last season); three-time champion Danny Poirier (Ski-doo), fresh off a win in Plus 30 Pro-Am at Duluth; former series champion Mathieu Morin (Ski-doo); series newcomer Mike Bauer (Arctic Cat), of Medford, WI; and New York native Brett Bender (Polaris), a veteran of national competition with an impressive resume.

Last year’s Pro Lite champion Mike Pilotte (Polaris) has advanced to the Pro class, as has veteran Ski-doo pilot Jake daSilva. Both riders will add even more depth to an already talent-filled field. And with Pilotte out of the picture in Pro Lite, the door swings open for any one of 10 athletes to take control.

Among the many challengers will be veterans like Jesse James Bonaduce, Montana Jess, Leo Patenaude and Mike Bollow. Add multi-time champion Jason Boron to that mix, along with Tyler Brancifort, Wade Acker, Hunter Patenaude and Connor Roscoe, and you’re guaranteed to have exciting races every time the light turns green.

Exciting competition in Rumney won’t stop with Pro Open and Pro Lite. A host of eager young athletes have been training and preparing for racing in the Sport, Women and Junior classes, as well. The new Novice 250 Rider Development class is generating a buzz among families, adding a new youthful flair to opening weekend as the popular Phantom Snowmobiles hit the snow in Rumney. There will also be 120cc racing on a smaller track for kids ages six to 10.

Wicked Snocross, Inc., and the Riverbrook RV Resort are located just seven miles away from Interstate 93, one of New Hampshire’s best-known highways. Take Exit 26 off I-93 and head west for five miles on the Tenney Mountain Highway. Stay to the right at the traffic circle onto the
Mt. Moosilauke Highway (headed north), go two miles and the track/RV Resort is on the right.

The good folks at Wicked Snocross, Inc., are giving away a 120cc Yamaha snowmobile during the ECS season opener.

East Coast Snocross, presented by AMSOIL and Woody’s Traction, is the eastern affiliate of International Series of Champions (ISOC), the national sanctioning body for snocross. ECS strives to maintain a healthy level of grass-roots snocross in the northeast, while cultivating new talent for tomorrow’s factory-backed Pro teams.
