Naples ME (August 2, 2008) The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North super late models are poised to make their annual trip to Scotia Speedworld in Halifax Nova Scotia for the 8th annual Atlantic Cat 250, and a strong list of pre-entries will be making their way north of the border on August 8th and 9th for the popular event.
Defending Atlantic Cat 250 winner Mike Rowe’s on the list; he’s already chalked up two 250 wins (2007 and 2005) and the Maine racing legend would like nothing better than to be the first to win three at the D-shaped 3/10 mile. But there are two PASS super late model Champions that also have two Atlantic CAT 250 wins to their credit and they’ll both be in the field next weekend, looking for win number three as well.
. Johnny Clark saw the checkered flag first in the 2006 and 2004 versions of the race, and Clark has been on a hot streak of late.Clark won the PASS Summerfest 150 at Riverside Speedway on July 26th and came close to making it two in a row at All-Star Speedway on July 30th.. Ben Rowe wore the crown in 2003 and 2002, but it's been a while for Ben and his current car owner Richard Moody has never been to Atlantic CAT 250 victory lane. The four time champ will be looking to change all that on Saturday night.
Travis Benjamin came up one spot short in last years’ race and the Morrill Maine speed merchant has a strong 2008 PASS North campaign going. Benjamin has eight top tens in his eight PASS North starts; he’s been knocking on the door to victory lane all season long. Leading PASS North rookie D.J. Shaw has already visited victory lane in 2008, and he’ll team up with former PASS Mod standout Chad Dow for the 250 in a second Precision JLM –sponsored entry. Trevor Sanborn has two PASS South wins already this season and he’ll be joining Ben Rowe on the RMR team. PASS sophomore Adam Bates scored his first PASS North win at Beech Ridge in July, and he’ll be making the tow to Atlantic Canada, along with Cassius Clark, Scott Alexander, Mike Thomas, and Gary Bellefleur
Dartmouth Nova Scotia’s own John Fleming has spent much of the 2008 season south of the Canadian border competing with both PASS super late model series, and he’ll be one of the leading candidates to keep the winner’s purse in Canada at a speedway he calls home. Add Atlantic Canada’s own late model superstars and a surprise entrant or two to the mix and you have all the makings for another exciting, action – packed Atlantic CAT 250.

Friday night August 8th the schedule features PASS Atlantic CAT 250 qualifying races and the C&R Auto Supply 100 for Scotia’s Speedworlds own Sportsman series racers plus the Thunder and Lightning divisions. Grandstands open Friday at 5:00 PM with racing set for 7:00 PM. Saturday night it’s the Atlantic CAT 250 PASS feature; the Legends, Bandoleros and Street Stocks share the card with PASS Super Late Models. A PASS autograph session is on tap from 5:00 to 5:30, and racing gets underway at 6:00 PM.
