DAYTONA BEACH, FLA.–  Ryan Newman got a shove from his teammate Kurt Busch on the last lap to give car owner Roger Penske his first Daytona 500 win.

    And what a win it was. It was the 50th running of "the Great American Race" and Penske's Dodges held off a spine-tingling, last-lap challenge by Joe Gibbs Toyota teammates Tony Stewart and Kyle Busch.

CHARLOTTE NC (February 7 2008) Blake Lehr has never been one to back down from a challenge. For 2008 that challenge will be a lofty one, competing in the ultra-competitive Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model division. At just 17 years of age Blake has already accomplished a lot in his young career. In 1999 at the age of 8, Blake began his racing career driving a 345-pound, 11 horsepower Ultramax Go-Kart. In 2005 he finished second nationally on the dirt tracks of the World Karting Association, taking four state championships in Florida. In 2006 it was off to the Open Wheel Modifieds of the Gulf Coast Modified division. 2007 saw Blake racing full-time driving Super Late Models in Florida’s Sunbelt Series, earning one win and eight top five finishes on the way to fifth in the point standings. Milton, VT driver survives crash-filled “World Series” race for first career victory

       NEW SMYRNA, FL – American-Canadian Tour (ACT) stock car driver Eric Chase of Milton, VT scored his first-ever victory on opening night of the annual “World Series of Stock Car Racing” at New Smyrna Speedway in New Smyrna, FL on Friday night.  Chase survived a vicious, crash-filled race that saw three red flags to take the win.

It looks like the American-Canadian Tour will have a pair of talented rookies making a full-time go of it in 2008.  Nick Sweet of Barre, VT and Tyler Cahoon of Danville, VT will each tackle the Tour, giving further developmental credential power to the NAPA Tiger Sportsman and Allen Lumber Street Stock division at Thunder Road.  In case you missed it, Sweet put together a three-win season to take the Sportsman title at Thunder Road last year, while Cahoon, the 2000 Thunder Road Street Stock Champion, is a multi-time winner at White Mountain Motorsports Park.
