BARRE, VT – Actor, musician, and new author Rusty DeWees of Elmore will hold a book signing at Barre’s Thunder Road as part of the Fisher/Federated Auto Parts stock car racing program on Tuesday, August 28. No stranger to Thunder Road, DeWees – perhaps more commonly known by his stage name “The Logger” – will autograph copies of his soon-to-be-released book, Scrawlins. During the early years of his wildly popular one-man show named after his character, DeWees was a weekly competitor in Thunder Road’s Allen Lumber Street Stock division.

JOHNNY CLARK SWEEPS WEEKEND AT WISCASSET RACEWAY
Turns out Johnny Clark’s win Saturday night in the 50 lap feature for the Clark’s Car Crushing Prostocks was just the warm-up act for Sunday afternoon’s PASS Wiscasset 150. The 2-time defending PASS Super Late Model champ took the lead from Rick Martin and then held off 5-time Wiscasset Prostock champ Scott Chubbuck through the second half to grab yet another win at the track that has produced some of him most memorable victories. Said the Clark in victory lane “We were joking last night that we won the ‘Busch race’, now lets go win the ‘Cup race’” referring to his weekend sweep. Sunday afternoon’s victory, in front of a near capacity crowd, capped off a busy double-header weekend at “Maine’s Center of Speed” including the return of the Pro All Stars Series to the track for the first time in four years. Clark acknowledged the emergence of Chubbuck and the Hight Motorsports team as a force to be reckoned with especially at Wiscasset.

Lakeville, CT (August 19, 2007): Mike Olsen led 17 laps of the Mohegan Sun 200 at Lime Rock Park, and was headed for a runner-up finish Saturday afternoon before bad luck struck the driver of the #61 “Little Trees” Chevrolet for the third straight week. Olsen hit a patch of oil in the final turn of the final lap and went off course – ending all chances for a top-three finish. The team took the checkers in a disappointing ninth place.

NAPLES, ME (August 20, 2007) – In 2004, Johnny Clark scored his first-career Pro All Stars Series North Super Late Model victory at Wiscasset Raceway (ME). After that season, the tour did not visit the Coastal Maine track again for another race until Sunday’s race there.
Payea is First Repeat ACT Late Model Tour Winner
NORTH WOODSTOCK, NH – Vermont stock car racer Scott Payea of Milton grabbed his second American-Canadian Tour (ACT) victory of the season and of his career in the Kancamaugus 100 at New Hampshire’s White Mountain Motorsports Park on Saturday night. Payea led on two occasions, including the final 18 circuits after passing Turner, ME’s Ben Rowe. With his win, Payea becomes the first multiple winner in nine ACT Late Model Tour events this year.
