BARRE, VT – Outlaw stock car racer Eddie MacDonald of Rowley, MA is the latest to file an entry for
Sunday’s 29th Bond Auto Labor Day Classic 200, part of the American-Canadian Tour’s ACTion Super Series at Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl in Barre, VT.  The 27 year-old MacDonald has copped victories on the ACT Late Model Tour and the NASCAR Busch East Series this season, and will make his first trip to “The Nation’s Site of Excitement” since running with the Busch East Series in the 2003 Labor Day Classic.

MacDonald has been looking forward to returning to Thunder Road since his ACT victory at Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway on August 11 – his only ACT start of the season.
“We’re going to go home and start getting this car ready for Labor Day at Thunder Road,” MacDonald said in victory lane at Oxford.  “We love that place.”  In his last foray to the Quarry Hill oval, MacDonald finished fifth behind winner and five-time ACT Late Model Tour Champion Brian Hoar of Williston, VT.

While picking and choosing his race events throughout the summer, MacDonald has seen success virtually everywhere he has competed.  In addition to his ACT victory, MacDonald took an upset win at Stafford Motor peedway in Connecticut against the multi-million dollar Busch East Series teams, and was a hard-charger at New York’s Adirondack Int’l Speedway in July.  MacDonald has also competed on a part-time basis in weekly Late Model events at Oxford Plains Speedway, earning three top-five finishes in just five starts.

MacDonald joins a star-studded list of entries for the $50,000+ ACTion Super Series 29th Bond Auto Labor Day Classic 200.  Expected to join him in qualifying on Sunday at Thunder Road are ACT Champions Hoar, Jean-Paul Cyr of Milton, VT, Robbie Crouch of Tampa, FL, and Phil Scott of Montpelier, VT; former PASS and Oxford Plains Champions Mike and Ben Rowe of Turner, ME; former NASCAR Busch East Champions Jamie Aube of Bow, NH and Brad Leighton of Center Harbor, NH; Série ACT Castrol Champion Donald Theetge of Boischatel, QC; and 2007 Late Model “King of the Road” Dave Pembroke of Montpelier, VT.

Opening ceremonies for the 29th Bond Auto Labor Day Classic 200 begin at 12:30 pm on Sunday, Sept. 2, followed by racing action at 1:00 pm.  Thunder Road’s weekly NAPA Tiger Sportsman, Allen Lumber Street Stock, and Power Shift Online Junkyard Warrior divisions will also be in feature event action on Sunday, with their qualifying races held in conjunction with ACT practice sessions on Saturday beginning at 12:00 noon.

Stop by any of the 35 Bond Auto Parts stores in VT, NH, and MA, and take $5 off the general admission price by purchasing discount advance sale tickets.  Tickets at the front gate will be $25 for adults and $5 for children (6-12).  Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl is located at the end of Fisher Road on Quarry Hill in Barre, VT.
