RACEWAY TO GET FACELIFT FOR 2003 SEASON - Unity, ME - Track owner,
Ralph Nason, and Track promoter, John Crawford, announced many planned improvements
for the upcoming race season. The duo planned improvements to the track, pits,
as well as grandstands. The biggest improvement will be the addition of pavement

Owner Bill Ryan wins award in Daytona, Florida - Oxford Plains
Speedway Owner Bill Ryan was awarded a special recognition award at the recent
RPM Promoters Workshop in Daytona Beach, Florida. The Workshop, hosted by the
racing industry’s trade association, recognized Ryan for his “Rehabilitation
of a Race Track” efforts at the famed Maine oval.

The Busch East Series, formerly known as the Busch North Series,
takes on a new identity in 2006 to reflect its expanded East
coast schedule. The series was formed in 1987, and has traditionally
competed at tracks throughout Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont,
Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey
and Delaware. The series expanded into Virginia in 2005 and
will compete in Greenville, S.C. for the first time in 2006.
Two-time NASCAR Busch Series champion Martin Truex Jr. was
a winning Busch East Series driver during the 2000-02 seasons,
before he advanced to NASCAR’s national series on a full-time
basis in 2004. Other notable Busch East Series graduates include
driver Ricky Craven, along with crew chiefs Frank Stoddard,
Richard “Slugger” Labbe and Greg Zipadelli.

Checker - Kenny Wright topped a talent-laden field to win the Wiscasset

The annual Speedway 95 Awards Banquet was held Saturday night, November 16th
at the Bangor Elks Lodge on the Odlin Road in Bangor. Sixty drivers from the
Saturday night program and twenty from the Wednesday night show received their
point fund awards and/or trophies for their placement in the season's points
standings. Special awards were also given for drivers showing special performance
in Rookie of the Year, Sportsmanship, Most Improved Driver, Flagman's award,

Jim Carr of Clifton won the final feature event of the 2002 racing season Sunday
afternoon at Speedway 95 as he beat points champion Brett Crosby of Hermon

FEATURE AT SPEEDWAY 95 - David Doore of Milford started on

SHARE 95 SPOTLIGHT - Mike Thomas of Etna and Don Alexander
Jr. of Carmel became the 10th and 11th different feature winners
of the season Saturday night at Speedway 95 as the regular racing

24, Thomas grabbed the lead from Lloyd Nickerson of E. Corinth following
a lap 18 restart, and went on to post his first win of the season.

Street Stock 75 For Career Best - Oakland’s Skip Connor led early,
was involved in a mid-race mishap, then charged from the rear of the
field to lead the final five laps to win Unity Raceway’s biggest DNK
Select Used Cars Street Stock event of the season and a $1,000 payday.
Three other divisions were on the open-comp style slate and going home
with feature wins were China’s J.J. Wentworth, Sidney’s Ron Smith and

Championships were on the line Saturday during a very somber day at
Unity Raceway where racer Allen Fletcher had lost his life in a crash

Fuller At Unity - It took a while to get there, but when the
Kick Butts Racing Pro Stocks neared the end of their feature race Saturday,
the two championships contenders put on a finish for the ages. Pat
Thibodeau, of Winterport, beat Albion’s Dean Fuller to the checkers
Saturday night by inches after the two had traded the lead several
times during the final two laps. Both cars were sideways in the first
turn, on the last lap prior to Thibodeau using the preferred lower
groove to barely win over Fuller in a race that mirrors the championship

Maine has filed the first entry for the $202,385.00 DNK Select Big Dawg Challenge,
a Pro All Stars Series sanctioned 400 lap event scheduled for October 11 and
12 at Wiscasset Raceway.

the Strong Chevrolet Mods at Wiscasset - Wiscasset
Raceway promoter Tom Mayberry has announced that Strong
Chevrolet has signed on as the title sponsor for Wiscasset’s
new open wheel modified division. The Strong Chevrolet
Mods will make their debut on Saturday April 12th, Strong
Chevrolet Opening Day 2003 at Maine’s fastest oval.

sponsor the $100,000.00 to win Big Dawg Challenge, a PASS sanctioned 400 lap

Mods Proving Popular - "It’s been a little over a month since Wiscasset
Raceway promoter Tom Mayberry announced the new Wiscasset Modified division
that will debut this spring at the coastal oval, and the response to the new

Big Dawg Challenge, a 400 lap Pro Stock race event to be held at Wiscasset

Dawg Challenge will post awards in excess of $195,000.00 with a possible $100,000.00

Wiscasset Raceway rolled out it's final night of points racing for the 2002
season Saturday night with five of seven division titles still up for grabs.
With a few anxious moments and a couple wild finishes, all point leaders were
able to seal the deal and unofficially wrap up the titles in their respective

QUIK-STOP PASS 150 AT WISCASSET RACEWAY - It was another big weekend
of racing at Maine's fastest oval, and when the smoke cleared and the engines
went quiet on Sunday evening, Kenny Wright of Woolwich had left little doubt
about who was in charge. The stars of PASS, the Pro All Stars Series, capped
off a double header weekend of action with the Wiscasset Quik-Stop 150, rolling
out a field of 35 of the top Prostock drivers in the northeast. 42 drivers
attempted
to qualify for a starting spot in the race. Kenny Wright Earns First PASS Wiscasset
Checker - Kenny Wright topped a talent-laden field to win the Wiscasset
Quik Stop 150 for the Pro All Stars Series Sunday at Wiscasset Raceway. It
was
Wright's second win of the PASS season and he held off a charge from Ben Rowe
with two laps remaining to earn the $4,000 payday for the Newmarket Sand and
