East Series: |
The Busch East Series, formerly known as the Busch North
Series, takes on a new identity in 2006 to reflect its
expanded East coast schedule. The series was formed in
1987, and has traditionally competed at tracks throughout
Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut,
New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. The series
expanded into Virginia in 2005 and will compete in Greenville,
S.C. for the first time in 2006. Two-time NASCAR Busch
Series champion Martin Truex Jr. was a winning Busch East
Series driver during the 2000-02 seasons, before he advanced
to NASCAR’s national
series on a full-time basis in 2004. Other notable Busch
East Series graduates include driver Ricky Craven, along
with crew chiefs Frank Stoddard, Richard “Slugger” Labbe
and Greg Zipadelli.
